Chizhou in Anhui, the Jiuhuashan

The Daxiong Baodian

Chizhou (池州) is a prefecture-level city in the south of Anhui district in central east China. The prefecture is well known for its rich landscapes and ancient temples.

In Qingyang county is Jiuhuashan, also called “Mount Jiuhua”, located, one of the four sacred mountains of Chinese Buddhism.

Many of the temples and shrines in the mountains are dedicated to Ksitigarbha, in Chinese known as Dizhang, who is a bodhisattva and protector of souls in hell according to Mahayana Buddhist tradition.

Buddhist who are pious often come to this admired attraction in Anhui to climb the Greater Tiantai peak, which is regarded as the most important in Jiuhuashan, although it is not the highest.

The Daxiong Baodian (“Treasure Hall of the Great Hero”) is one of the most beautiful temples to visit.

These amazing cultural scenic spots are getting increasingly popular among tourists from all around the world.
